Australia has a vast territory, but which are the must-see destinations?

Lucky for you, we put together 5 destinations to help you plan your Australian vacation.

1. Sydney, NSW

No Australian vacation would be complete without visiting Sydney. Even though Sydney started as a colony in 1788, it didn’t become a city until 1842.

When you visit Sydney, you have to pay a visit to the Sydney Opera House. It’s located in the Sydney Harbour and you cannot leave without getting a picture next to it.

While you’re there, make sure to check out the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Make sure you also check out Sydney’s many beaches, especially Bondi Beach.

2. Great Barrier Reef, Queensland

The Great Barrier Reef is the largest coral reef system in the world. You must make a stop in your Australian vacation and visit this international wonder.

Did you know the Great Barrier reef can be seen from the moon?

Put on your gear on and go diving or snorkeling in this world wonder. And while you’re there take a minute to learn about marine life and conservation.

3. Uluru, Northern Territory

Uluru is also known as Ayers Rock — it’s a large sandstone formation in the southern area of the Northern Territory.

Uluru is also known as the “spiritual heart of Australia” and sacred to Aboriginal people who inhabit the area. Make sure when you visit you take the opportunity to dine in the area while you enjoy a view of Uluru and the sunset.

You can also learn about the culture by taking a painting workshop from one of the locals.

Last, make sure you set your alarm and wake up to see the sun rise over Uluru.

4. Melbourne, Victoria

Let’s not forget about Melbourne. Sydney might the largest city in Australia, but Melbourne comes close with 4.82 million inhabitants.

Melbourne has a charm of its own you cannot miss. If you’re big into the coffee scene, then you must make a stop here.

The Melbourne locals love art, so expect to find graffiti art anywhere you go.

5. Gold Coast, Queensland

The Gold Coast might not resonate with people as much as other famous Australian cities, but this place is out of this world.

With 20 beaches that stretch for over 35 miles, you will have your pick. This is also a great place to hop on a wave and learn to surf. The Gold Coast is truly a golden place.
