Looking your best can be hard when fashion trends change four times a year. Who has time to keep up with all of the new fashion items? Beauty editors, that’s who!

It’s their job to track trends and deliver them straight to you. That’s what we’ve done here. We looked at the top looks from spring fashion weeks and picked our top 7 faves.

Learn our top new fashion picks and easy ways to wear them below!

Asymmetrical Skirts

Shark bite and asymmetrical dress hemlines have made the rounds for a few years. So, it’s only natural that skirts would be next.

A step up from a skirt slit, this trend shows off your legs in a fun way. We’re seeing stars wear them as pencil skirts, but it seems the flowy look is the new fashion on the way.

If you want to try this trend but are nervous and want to try the look before you buy, play around with a wrap dress. Hike one side of the wrap dress a little higher to get a feel for uneven hemlines.

Need to accessorize? The next new fashion trend goes great with a dramatic hem.

Kitten Heels

Like Michelle Obama said when they go low… we buy the shoes? Stiletto hating ladies get ready, kitten heels are back!

These heels have slowly but surely appeared on fashion week catwalks a few seasons.

Balenciaga and Manolo Blahnik’s shows are two kitten-heel shows that caught our eye.

To wear this dainty shoe, pair it with a dramatic piece, like an asymmetrical skirt. They also work as neutrals with a loud outfit print or as color pops if you’re going monochromatic.

Short girls, you can wear this trend too! It’s the new fashion version of flats we’ve all been waiting for.

Crisp, Bold, Stripes

There is nothing I love more than a well-done stripe. The crisp, clean lines feel put together and somehow Parisian. Don’t pair them with a beret though.

This spring, we’ve seen stripes everywhere on runways. In fact, there was almost nothing not striped at Fendi’s last show. They paired big stripes with little stripes and it made our eyes happy!

To wear classic stripes in a new fashion way, look for some that aren’t strictly horizontal. Stripes that start in the center and come outward are super slimming.

Stay on-trend with asymmetry and wear a diagonal stripe with a flash dance shoulder. Pair with pastel and kitten heels. Voila, chic up to date stripes!

Statement Earrings

Earholes, get ready. It’s all about heavy, bright, and dangly this spring. You can make this trend as big as you want. Earrings the size of your face? They’re in!

We have Balenciaga and Oscar de la Renta to thank for this crazy trend. Their earrings have been getting gradually bigger each year. Now, it’s safe to say they’ve peaked.

In an interesting new fashion twist, your earrings don’t have to match either. We’re seeing more and more coordinating but not identical earring sets on the runway.

To rock both of these trends at the same time, look for a large set that is similar in design and pattern, not shape.

Worried about your delicate ear holes supporting these large art pieces? Invest in the type of earring backs with plastic plates. They’re available online and at craft stores.

Lavender

Pastels for spring? Groundbreaking, we know. However, this particular pastel is a fresh take on the traditional Easter egg colors.

Not only does lavender look good on all skin types, but it lends itself to all patterns as a neutral. It’s basically the new black.

We think the lavender trend is a spring new fashion take on Pantone’s color of the year, Ultraviolet. While you’re welcome to wear the bright purple in any season, we’re never over pastels for spring.

Want to make it super on trend? Mix some lavender and ultraviolet for a monochromatic avant-garde look.

High Waist or Detail Waist Trousers

The menswear look is back, with a feminine twist. We’re seeing versatile detailed trousers everywhere this season in every possible way.

Personally, we love the paper bag waist trousers, with the drawstring crating messy-but frilly hem detail. We’re also seeing tight trousers with a subtle bell bottom.

Don’t want to buy an entirely new pair for this season? See if you can find some large ones in your or your partners closet. Then, hike them up on your waist and belt them right under the original belt line.

Pair this subtle flair waist with a tight top and marvel at the new, flattering shape you’ve created.

If you are buying new, don’t be color shy! We’re loving brights like tomato reds and emerald greens.

Wondering what to pair a bright trouser with? The answer is fiercer than you think.

Leopard Print

Leopard print is one of our favorite patterns, ever. It’s a print and a neutral at the same time, something only snakeskin and alligator have achieved.

Even though it’s ultra versatile, it’s also easy to do wrong. Since it’s a loud print, wearers must be careful to not wear too much of it. You don’t want to look like you’re going to a biker rally!

The way we’re seeing it on the runways right now is in accent pieces. There were a few leopard print fur coats we loved, as well as chiffon or silk blouses.

When it comes to leopard print pieces, quality matters. Look for quality fabrics with well-spaced leopard spots. Check your local department stores or sites like Yizzam online to find your dose of fierce.

Incorporating New Fashion Pieces

You don’t need to buy an entirely new wardrobe to participate in spring fashion trends. Pick your favorite trends above and then buy three or four new key pieces.

Sprinkle your finds through your current wardrobe and mix and match as needed. Just like that, you’ve got a fresh closet.
