Cell phone cameras have improved so much over the past several years, most people opt to use them instead of a traditional camera.

Unfortunately, when you rely on your phone for photo storage, it’s far too easy to lose your precious memories. You can protect yourself from this fate by creating traditional photo albums using cheap photo prints that don’t sacrifice quality.

Need Cheap Photo Prints? Check Out These Unexpected Options.

Gone are the days of having to wait around a sketchy one-hour photoshop to get your photo prints. Here’s a list of places that allow you to order inexpensive, high-quality photos right from the comfort of your own home.

Just when you thought Amazon couldn’t get any better, it’s now offering cheap photo prints for Amazon Drive customers and Prime members. The service, called Amazon Print, allows users to upload their photos to Amazon’s Cloud Drive and order single prints, cards, gifts, and decor.

With prints starting at $0.09 a piece, the cost is extremely competitive. Prime members enjoy free shipping with no minimum, and even non-members receive free shipping on orders of $15 or more.

Most people think that FedEx is just a shipping company, but they also have a division called FedEx Office Print & Ship. Here you can print presentations, brochures, and more right from your cloud storage. Gorgeous photo posters start at just $27.99 and they offer many reasonably priced over-sized printing options.

If you need photo prints right away, you can skip the online ordering and visit one of their locations with a self-service Sony PictureStation.

Unlike the two options listed above, FreePrints is only accessible through an app downloaded to your mobile phone. This unique service allows you to order one free 4×6 print-out of each photo on your mobile phone. It also works with your Instagram, Facebook, Flickr and Picasa accounts.

You can order up to 85 free prints a month, and as many as 1,000 per year. The fine print? You can only receive one free print per photo, size is limited to 4 x 6, and shipping applies. Still, this is an exciting concept that’s sure to catch on.

Creative Uses for Printed Photos

In today’s digital world, you may think that the idea of printing photos is outdated. That couldn’t be further from the truth. Just like receiving an actual card in the mail, in today’s digital world a printed photo is that much more special.

Here are just a few of the awesome things you can do with printed photos:

  • Create great gifts by sending your friends’ photo scrapbooks from your favorite girl’s getaway trip.
  • Turn your favorite family photo into a coffee mug, pillow, or mouse pad.
  • Commemorate that once-in-a-lifetime concert experience by turning one of your own photos into a poster or canvas.
  • Have some cool Instagram photos you love? Use them to create stickers or even a cell phone case.
  • Once you’ve printed out one of your favorite photos, you can use a quality copy machine to create hundreds of flyers or other handouts. Thinking about buying or leasing your own copy machine? Learn more here.
